KAM is a contemporary New Zealand Artist residing in Arkles Bay, Whangaparaoa.

Her approach to painting reflects her need to paint, her need to see all the beauty and joy in the less obvious and her need to release energy and find calm through her painting.

Her works flow between almost abstracted large loose florals to realistic tiny native birds filled with sentiment.

KAM’s work is usually either very black and white charcoals and inks, or all-in colour explosions.

This recent series of native New Zealand birds on organic teabags began as unique gift pieces for friends and family. The Teabags are brewed first, so the natural tea colour stains the teabags, then they are delicately painted in acrylic inks, acrylics and pen. Little messages of symbolism on the tags give an extra layer of heartfelt meanings.
