Established 1934 in Imabari, Japan, Kontex has been producing its textiles with old traditional looms and weaving techniques. Compared to modern machines which are used for speedy mass production, this method is more time consuming, but shows better results in absorption capacity, texture softness and drying behavior. 

All textiles are woven from pure cotton and linen without any synthetic fibers. The fibers are cleansed with water that flows from Mt. Ishizuchi with low mineral content. For the dyeing process natural orange oil is being used.
