Kraus Organic Yerba Mate - 500g

Certified organic yerba mate from Argentina, made by the Kraus family, who have been growing mate since the early 1900s using sustainable farming methods.

Most yerba mate is dried over open fire, which gives it a smoky taste. Kraus dries its leaves with indirect heat instead, so this mate is smoke-free, with a smooth, earthy flavour and a gentle lift of natural caffeine without the jitters. Enjoy it hot, or cold-brewed over ice in summer.

How to brew
Teapot or plunger: use about 12g per litre of water at around 80°C and steep for about 5 minutes. Avoid boiling water, which can make it bitter. Traditionally, it's also drunk from a mate gourd with a bombilla (metal straw).
