Sattva Soul - Copper Tongue Cleaner

Ready to try this life-changing morning ritual?

In Ayurveda, the tongue is a map of the internal organs. Each night the tongue processes the mouth's bacteria from the day, leaving a coating of Ama (toxin) build-up on the tongue first thing in the morning to clean.

Gently cleaning the tongue with a copper tongue cleaner prevents any accumulation of toxic residue, as it can result from improper eating, poor digestion, or a reflection of an imbalance somewhere in the gastrointestinal system.

In addition, from an Ayurvedic perspective, removing the coating increases your taste reception; you eat less, and you also eliminate the need to add more sugar, salt, or excessive spice to the food to make it more flavourful. Many of the beneficial phytonutrients and "body signals" that food contains are first interpreted by the mind-body upon contact with receptors on the tongue. You want to improve this communication between your food and your body by removing any coating interfering with that connection.

Ingredients:
Made of 100% thick and pure copper.
14cm h/8cm w (from the base).

Instructions:

1. Best Time to Use:
Use your tongue cleaner first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, before brushing your teeth or drinking water. This helps remove the overnight buildup of toxins (known as ama in Ayurveda).

2. Stand in Front of a Mirror:
Stand comfortably in front of a mirror with good lighting so you can see your tongue.

3. Extend Your Tongue:
Open your mouth and extend your tongue as far as is comfortable.

4. Position the Cleaner at the Back of Your Tongue:
Hold the ends of the tongue cleaner with both hands. Place the curved edge of the cleaner gently at the back of your tongue, making sure not to gag or press too hard.

5. Scrape from Back to Front:
Gently but firmly scrape the surface of your tongue from the back towards the tip in one smooth motion. This removes the coating of toxins, bacteria, and debris that accumulate overnight.

8. Rinse the Cleaner:
Rinse off the tongue cleaner under running water after each scrape to remove the residue. You can repeat this process about 5–10 times or until the coating is gone and your tongue looks clean.

Tips:
• Be gentle when scraping; don’t apply too much pressure.
• Clean your tongue cleaner regularly to maintain hygiene.
• Using a tongue cleaner daily can improve oral hygiene, and digestion, and freshen breath according to Ayurvedic practices.
